Sleep… still

02/24/2014

Belle

The battle wages on. After reading The Family Van’s sleep success story I decided it was time I take action. Sabine will be 8 months old on Saturday. She should not be waking 4-7 times a night so I finally called a sleep consultant recommended by Robin. They took Sabine’s basic sleep information (and gasped at the wake-ups and need for boob every time) and will call in a few days with a quote. Praying it is not out of our budget. Although at this point, I don’t think there is a price I would not pay for better sleep.

In other news, we all got sick again two weeks ago and are finally digging out from it. Sabine has been a delightful silly goose despite poor sleep and I am eating up every hilarious moment of it. I love this kid so much!

My attempts at getting a cute Happy Birthday photo to send our friend were thwarted when Sabine discovered it is much more fun to hide her face in a party hat. Such a ham! Also, why don’t baby socks stay on better?

Ugh, 8 months is when I hit the end of my rope as well with sleep issues. I hope this is the key for you guys and you’re all sleeping in long stretches soon!

Don’t know if you get them in the US but look up sock-ons. I got mine from amazon. They are genius.

I do wish you well in the sleep area, but I’m going for the subplot with a comment on baby socks. Now, I have a boy and it wouldn’t surprise me if this didn’t translate to girl socks even though they really should be the same. Hanes socks do not stay on. Old Navy ankle socks for size 12-24 mo. stay on and fit well. Osh Kosh socks size 12-24 mo. stay on and fit well. The Osh Kosh size 12-24 mo. is a little bigger than the Old Navy size 12-24 mo.

I second Luna’s suggestion for sock ons. We’ve been using them since birth (they come in size 0-6 and 6-12 mos I think, in several different colors) and they really are amazing. They work!

We’re still struggling here to. We had gotten there (8-9 hour stretches consistently) but then a string of colds bit us and now it’s mayhem. I feel like we’re starting to get there again, but it’s so unpredictable. GAH!

Good luck! I’m anxious to hear more!

That’s weird they didn’t give you a price right away …! I hope they give you the same price as me (or less)! Tell them you were referred maybe they will charge less. Good luck good luck good luck!
