Counting down the days

When I was a kid I would make paper chains to count down the days to important events – Christmas, birthday, last day of school. As an adult I occasionally revive this childhood tradition and make a chain to countdown to more boring, grown up things – new jobs, moving days, tax time (only the years when a refund is coming). It was always so satisfying to see the days come off and the chain grow shorter.

My husband recently left a pile of hot pink wire ties on the table. I looped one together and was inspired – I’ll make a chain to countdown to Testing Day. I so hope that I have a baby who I can one day teach the wonders of the paper chain.

I love it! When I was in the air force we made calendars to cross off the days until we were discharged. It was so satisfying. This is waaaay cooler. 🙂

OMG! I LOVE paper chains! I actually debated making one before the hubs & I got married … didn’t end up doing it. For some reason pulling each “day” off the chain was so satisfying — it made the waiting so much easier! I think I’ll be making a chain during the next TWW. Thanks for the inspiration!!
