I was Dr. Hope’s last patient of the day today, meaning there was no waiting for 45 minutes while pregnant women waddled by. I considered this a good start to my weekend. I had hot plans to return home from the cycle canceling appointment, crack open a bottle of Pinot Noir and then consume myself in drunken crafts. Don’t judge, but I love the occasional evening of drunken crafting.
I explained to Dr. Hope that I felt like what little progress we had made disappeared once we reduced the dosage and that I was ready to call this cycle quits. Always the optimist, he agreed but first wanted to check and “make sure” nothing was going on “in there.”
Low and behold the first thing to pop up on the screen was one brilliantly ripe 18 mm follicle! Then a second, coming in at about 17. And hold the phone, a THIRD at about 16mm! Dr. Hope grinned and actually said, “I’m quite pleased with this outcome!”
My lining is not super awesome, but he hopes it will thicken up the last little bit with the HCG shot. All in all, not a terrible outcome for a 23 ish days of stims.
Tonight I trigger and then tomorrow afternoon I go for IUI 2.0 and again on Sunday for IUI 2.1.
Since a bottle of Pinot was kinda out of the question, instead I celebrated this accomplishment with roasted fingerlings potatoes, steamed cabbage, vegan sausage and a chocolate chip cookie for one. Cheers to hopin’ these follicles hold some Grade A eggs!
