Cold feet

Like literally cold feet, not as in I might be backing out of this IFV/FET business.

Winter seems to have finally arrived and my gosh it is cold! My feet are freezing. When I moved to Kentucky three years ago I splurged and purchased a pair of very non-sexy slippers. They were warm and made me happy, despite being a size too big and sloshing around my feet. Now that I’ve taken up running and spinning and other high-impact, angry knee type sports I find that sloshing slippers are just way too uncomfortable. I have tried going slipperless for the past week or so and the bunions are not having it. “Too Cold” they yell as I stand in the kitchen at 4:30 in the morning making my oatmeal.

So it is time for a new pair. My new slippers need to be comfy, non-sloshy, warm and hopefully ok to wear if I make a super quick a.m. run by the co-op. Yeah, I have no shame and would totally wear slippers to the co-op.

Turns out finding slippers that meet these criteria without spending $100 is surprisingly difficult. Seriously, who spends $100 on house shoes? (please realize I’m just majorly cheap and am secretly jealous of you people who have fashionable $100 slippers)

I am totally digging these in hot pink from Lands EndΒ and they are only $29.99. I am a little concerned that the sole might not hold up if I wear them on the deck outside, or, you know, to the co-op…

I think pink slippers might make crappy early mornings less grumpy? Maybe?

These have a better sole but only come in boring colors and at $39 they are a little pricey.

Good sole, boring color. Anyone who knows me is aware that I love me some funky colors.

I find it hilarious that these are called “Romantic Soles.” Sorry, there is absolutely nothing romantic about house shoes, especially this pair!

There will be no sexy time when wearing these. Not that there is a lot of sexy time when doing IVF anyways...

I take that back, these might be the least sexy slippers I have ever seen. Suddenly the romantic soles don’t look so bad.

Now these are seriously cute. Not the moccasins that I had hoped for but serious potential. Little pricey, though.

What do you think? Do you have a favorite pair of slippers you would recommend? Do you think I’m ridiculous for spending time worrying about this? If so, you can refrain from commenting πŸ™‚

I hate cold feet. I would have to go with the boots…but I already did. I have some fleece lined house boots with a knit upper, and oh! They are so toasty warm. I just picked up a cheap pair at a big box to see how I liked em, but that was two winters ago and they’re still going. Plus, you can always find pink ones somewhere.

Oh I like the boots the best. As long as they don’t become your regular shoes. I don’t think uggs-style shoes are good looking, but they are very warm, so if they are your slippers-and-sometimes-co-op shoes then I’d be okay with it πŸ™‚ hahaha

I’m a fan of the boots because I like the all the way up the ankle warmth =)

I like the boot and the pink ones!!!!!

I really like the pink one for you….cause they scream you back at me πŸ™‚ the boot are also quite cute. I am also in the market for mew slippers and have found it shocking how pricey some of them are!

My first instinct was the boots..but did you check out the reviews on Amazon….OUCH! The Lands End reviews are pretty good and you can wear them when it isn’t so cold too..
I admit to being an Ugg girl..there is NOTHING warmer or more comfortable. I wear mine inside more support to my icky feet than slippers. Last night I seriously shovelled off three vehicles,my porch and walkway and my feet never thought about getting cold..oh, if only they looked better. They do have some sweater boot options now although each pair is expensive yet an investment for the long haul. I thought of you when I saw this: πŸ™‚

For someone like me who has to wear a size 11 and has yet to find a slipper, I’ll take anything. Even the not so romantic ones! LOL! But those pink ones are cute.

I always have cold feet! My toes and fingers are the first things to lose feeling and get painful. And when that happens they stay that way a long time. ( I think I have bad circulation.) Anyway, slippers are a necessity year-round. I am currently wearing something looking very similar to the second pair you showed. I love them! Very cozy and warm, I highly recommend them!

I think we all need to spend some time looking at frivolous stuff. It’s good for the soul.
No feedback on the slippers though. It’s pretty warm over here and I have a weakness for bunny slippers (which I’m sure is not surprising at all).

I don’t care much for cold feet either, but I just have a bunch of cozy socks. They usually do the trick in Texas.

I LOVE the pink Land’s End ones, I’d go with those….or the boots, which are really cute and have to be warm too. Last year, I bought a pair of Bear Paw sweater boots to wear to yoga. They aren’t slippers, but they are pretty darn close. They are comfy and the best part….warm.

Wow, you’re hard core! I don’t think I’ve ever spent more than $15 on slippers but those pink ones are awesome! I am so with you…I HATE being cold and complain about the weather a lot these days…LOL…I live in Florida for a reason, you know? I also dislike when my feet are cold. Lately, my favorite thing are those big fuzzy socks. πŸ™‚ Hope you stay warm!

My feet are always cold, even in the summer. I need to get myself some slippers too. I just wear fuzzy socks right now. Those hot pink ones are cute. Get them!

  13. January 21, 2012

I tend to do thick fuzzy socks that have grippy stuff on the bottom so I don’t slide. But, I vots for the pink ones or the boots. Cute!

You can’t put a price on the perfect pair of slippers. That being said, I think I got mine on clearance for $5. I can’t wear them outside, so I got some fake uggs from Payless on a BOGO deal and once they were waterproofed they became my shoveling/winter errands shoes. They were maybe $20? So you may have to get two different pairs . . . Fun!

I definitely would have to get the pink ones. You cant go wrong with pink slippers.
