Happy 100th post toooo Belle! (Image credit)

Tonight I will take my last evil birth control pill. Y’all, I have never been so excited about a period. NEVER. On Monday, Jan. 30, I go in for my suppression check. If any of you have some extra vibes/prayers to spare, I could really use them on the 30th. I’m always such a cysty mess. It will be an act of God if I go in and I’m cyst-free and my estrogen is where it is supposed to be! I think I will celebrate the end of birth control by baking brownies tonight… nom nom nom, brownie. 🙂

This is my 100th post! I don’t know why this excites me so much, but it does 🙂 During a time in my life when I feel I have accomplished very little, knowing I posted 100 times about random life happenings/infertility/the state of my vagina/etc. makes me feel really good. Go Blog, Go!

This morning I started a new 30:20:10 circuit routine at the gym. I’m hoping this is something I can maintain during stims and into a pregnancy to stay strong and active (minus the crunches during stims/pregnancy, maybe plus another plank or two). It is a lot less intense than my previous weight routine, but surprisingly challenging. It took me about 45 minutes to complete and goes like so:

30 bicep curls with 10 lb weights
30 tricep kick-backs with 10 lb weights
30 bench presses with 10 lb weights
30 shoulder presses with 5 lb weights
30 bench crunches
30 leg lifts or other lower ab isolation exercise
30 oblique exercises with 10 lb weights
30 squats with two 10 lb weights
30 calf raises (no weight)
60 second plank

Repeat everything with only 20 reps and 5 lb weights for everything + a 45 second plank

Repeat everything with only 10 reps and 5 lb weights for everything + a 30 second plank

I’m missing something to work my back muscles. Any of you gym-goers have a favorite back move you would recommend? Must be something I can do without bouncing the ovaries around!

It felt really good to do something different at the gym. I have been doing the same weight routine for two years now and it has gotten BORING! I managed to walk to the gym before work, do the routine, shower, walk back home to grab the car and drive into work by 8:15 a.m. Not bad I’d say!

How do you stay fit during IVF?

Ya for last BCP – I will send you my extra prayers/thoughts for your supression check and hoping that there is not a cyst to be found!
For back exercises – I always enjoy dead lifts 🙂

Congrats on the last birth control pill. So exciting!! I love your circuit routine and may have to start something like that. I was doing light weights and rowing until I started stims…then I just walked every day for 15 minutes to 1 hour with my puppy. It’s kinda weird taking it easy, but it’s nice too. Now, that I’m at the end of stims (triggered last night) its a little harder to walk because my ovaries are pretty painful, but I will definitely start walking again after my bedrest after the transfer. Good luck. I’m so excited for you!!

What about flies? I think that’s what they’re called, anyway. You lean forward with weights in both hands, starting down below your legs and then lift both arms out and to the side until they’re parallel with the ground. That works your upper back.

I might steal this idea! I love it!

Wow! You go girl! I’m exhausted just reading your routine. That is awesome. Congratulations on your 100th post!

Good good luck with the tests. Everything crossed for you. Do a set of curls for me will you, and enjoy it? I’ve never had a “NO EXERCISE” prescription before and it’s very frustrating!!!

Congrats on the post and good luck for supression check. I am usually a cysty mess too, but it worked out this time, by some masterful stroke of luck.

As for exercise? I am on the Just Dance plan on my Wii 🙂 LOL

Good things all around. I’m impressed by you going to the gym before work, that’s a great use of time. Hope the suppression check turns out just fine and on track! glad you are getting excited about this cycle.

Congratulations on the 100th post!:-) Very impressive. Even more so is you exercise routine… and you do it in the morning. I tell you I would never, and I mean NEVER. be able to do anything like that. Mind you, I don’t like gyms in any case. My exercise during IVF and now during early pregnancy is simply to have a 45 min. walk in the park everyday.

I wish you all the best of the 30th and I will be thinking of you as you!

Thanks Irene! Walking is the absolute best thing we can do during IVF and pregnancy I have read. Good for you for getting 45 minutes a day in!
