Panties & Transfer Tomorrow

04/16/2012

Belle

Endometrin = Granny Panties

The Endometrin, i.e. pu$$y pills, is disgusting and seriously cramping my style. I’m a thong girl but am having to resort to my small stash of regular panties in order to accomodate the progesterone mess. Today I wore an orange sun dress. Rather than my regular orange thong, I wore a pair of yellow granny panties and a liner. This was a poor choice as the liner was not properly supported by a thin layer of panty and sort of flopped around all day.

In case this was not enough lower hemisphere disruption, the panties  launched war on my butt crack and spent the day trying to invade. A thong is just fine, 12 inches of fabric making a bee line for your butt crack is not. Must choose wardrobe more carefully from here on out.

Tomorrow is the big transfer day! Yesterday I felt really good about things and even managed to play optimistic at my support group by joking that I’ll be pregnant next month and won’t be there in May. Everyone laughed and said they liked my attitude. Sadly the good ‘tude seemed to have disappeared this afternoon and has been replaced by the RAGE and the grump. Hopefully I’ll be back to my Yoda-tastic self tomorrow.

In other unrelated news, I had a kitchen fail tonight. Good idea = steamed kale. Bad idea = steamed kale with tahini and lemon juice. Lesson: what works well in humus might not work well on kale.

Eighteenyear’s Blog is having her transfer tomorrow, too. Go send her some positive vibes!

And finally, I’m seeking movie recommendations for post transfer tomorrow. I’m obsessed with Downton Abbey but out of episodes (so sad!). Any movie or series recommendations that are similar?

Time to snuggle some cats and listen to a a Circle and Bloom! I’ll post after my transfer tomorrow!

I’ll give you the same wishes as what I left for Alissa: all the best for a flawless transfer and a sticky embryo!

Yeaaaahhh you really can’t wear a thong while taking the vag pills (my husband and I call them VP’s for short, haha). They are so gross. Bleh.

    GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • April 17, 2012

I totally stole the VP name. Much more discrete in public than pu$$y pills or PP as Mr. Husband was saying 🙂

Best of luck tomorrow, Belle! Here’s to sticky embryos, but not sticky panties!

I couldn’t do it, giant underwear riding all day….worse than leaking mess in my opinion! I made the thong pantiliners work after one day of giant panties. Tomorrow will be fantastic. I can’t wait to see your perfect little Embie of choice.

Best of luck tomorrow! I am not looking forward to the Endometrin!

    That photo is hilarious.

Hope all goes well tomorrow and that embryo makes itself at home!

  7. April 17, 2012

Good luck tomorrow Belle!! May your embie find a nice warm spot to snuggle in for the next 9 months and may the transfer be quick and easy. Fingers crossed!!

Good luck!!! Sending all my good thoughts your way 🙂

Endometrim sucks. Two words: double pantyliners.

LOVE Downton Abbey. I just watched “Winds of War” on NetFlix, recommended because I watched Downton Abbey. Period drama (1938-42), check! Production values: (amazing – they filmed everything on actual location, like in Siena and Vienna and London): check! It’s really long, really soap opera-y, in a highbrow historical manner. It totally sucked me in. So that’s my recommendation 🙂 Here’s my longer take on it. http://jjiraffe.wordpress.com/2012/04/07/the-winds-of-war/

Lol! I doubled today in attempts to protect my pants. So far so good 😉

Ah-Ha! You were the blogger who wrote about that. I remember reading a post about something like Downton Abbey but could not for the life of me remember who, where and when it was written. I read so many blogs my attempts to scroll through everyones everything was fruitless. This now in my Netflix cue and as soon as I finish responding to all these lovely comments I’m going to settle in. I hope Pip likes period pieces 🙂

Well, have you seen Gosford Park? It is by the same guy who does Downton. If I am in a period drama mood I often go back to the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice (the Colin Firth one, yum). The BBC version of North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell is also wonderful (Richard Armitage, yum, are you seeing a pattern here?) I also love the old Julie Christie version of Far From the Madding Crowd. Or the Wide Sagasso Sea? I am a sucker for Little Women, sob. I found this excellent list (except I will NEVER watch Kiera Knightly as my Elizabeth, grrrr). http://www.listal.com/list/period I hope that gets you started. BTW can you tell I like films!

Oh, and I am a granny pants girl all the way all the time. I am comfort over style all the way.

  10. April 17, 2012

Ugh, today is my first day with the VPs (haha, I love that), and it’s going to be awful. I was gonna suggest the thong pantyliners, but someone else already did. I’m not a thong girl except if the outfit calls for it, so I don’t know if those kind of pantyliners actually work though.

Good luck with the transfer. My RE says to visualize the embryo snuggling in an going to sleep (hard to do if you visualize the blobs on the picture they’ll give you — so you’ll just have to imagine your baby instead).

As to TV shows, maybe some fun SciFi would be in order? Something like Doctor Who or Fringe?

Thanks for mentioning me in your posting — that’s so sweet of you.

  11. April 17, 2012

Good luck tomorrow! I know you’ll do great, and so will your little embryo.

Have you tried making your way through the Masterpiece Mysteries? They aren’t all period pieces, but they often have the same pacing, and are British.

  12. April 17, 2012

All the best of luck tomorrow and the next two weeks!! Will be sending you lots of good vibes!!

  13. April 17, 2012

Yay! I’m excited for you! Sending prayers your way…

  14. April 17, 2012

I can’t believe it’s already GO time. Goodluck, sending all my good vibes north to you!!

Good luck with the transfer! I’m sending lots of sticky vibes to your embie!

As for movies to watch, I echo what Em said. You can’t go wrong with the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice (but please do stay away from the Kiera Knightley abomination). Sense and Sensibility is wonderful, too, even if Emma Thompson is a bit too old to play Elinor. If you think you can handle something sad, Gillian Anderson is brilliant in House of Mirth.

Looking forward to updates from you. 🙂

Thanks for all the recommendations! I am excited to check them out 🙂

Those pills are awful! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to excuse myself from a conversation upon feeling a whoosh that I was certain everyone around me could feel also! Nasty.

    Good luck to you!!!!!!!!!!!

    • April 17, 2012

Lol! I had that happen during an interview yesterday!

For what it’s worth, I find I can use thong panty liners with my crinone supplements. And honestly, sometimes i use a regular panty liner with a thong and just fold the sides under.
