When to pee and who is peeing with me?

09/06/2012

Belle

Not my current stash but one that I totally envy. So many peeing options. So few days to pee. Source.

To Pee or Not to Pee.

It is 1dp6dt and I’m already thinking about peeing on things. I swore that I would not pee on things until the night before my blood test, which is Wednesday, September 19. Two full weeks after a 6 day transfer… Boo Dr. B. Just boo.

This leaves me in the predicament of when to start peeing. I have three FRER pee sticks right now. I REALLY don’t want to find myself sneaking out of the house again to buy more, or rushing home from work to intercept the UPS man and snag the huge order of FRERs being delivered by Amazon. I also don’t want to stash pee stick wrappers around the house to hide the evidence NOR do I want gobs of stinky pee sticks piling up in my bathroom drawer,Β cleverlyΒ hidden under a pile of maxi pads.

Most importantly, I don’t want to hang my head in pee stick shame every day when I post to Scrambled Eggs. What’s a girl to do?

Currently my plan is to pee next Wednesday, which is one week past 6 day transfer. I’ll pee again on Friday and then once more on Saturday. If the sticks are still negative I’m going to go take my longest bike ride yet and peddle out 26 miles of anguish and fury. If the pee sticks are positive, well, I’ll probably go buy more pee sticks to continue peeing with reckless abandon because that is just the type of infertile I am.

I know quite a few of you had embryo transfers/IUIs/Did the Dance in the last few days. I was thinking about creating a list of my fellow TWWers that includes our promised dates to start peeing. Perhaps this will help hold us accountable and keep the crazy hormone filled women from peeing all over everything? Sort of like Jen’s weight loss challenge kept us from stuffing our mouths with toast? Wait… I still stuffed my face with toast.

(I love toast almost as much as I love peeing on pregnancy tests with reckless abandon).

I am dying to start peeing on things too! IUI Tuesday. Doc says wait until the 18th. Is this a pledge to wait until our doctor’s date or the date we have in our heads? Cause I was thinking about peeing on a stick on the 15th… 11 days post IUI.

But count me in for the list. Without you all here to physically remove the pee stick from hand, I will try my best to restrain myself!

    • September 6, 2012

I think this is a pledge to not pee until the reasonable date we have stuck in our heads and I think the 15th is a great day for you to start peeing πŸ™‚ I’m so excited for your cycle, by the way!

something is wrong with me. I didn’t pee on anything prior to my blood test. What type of infertile does that make me!? haha

    • September 7, 2012

A patient infertile! I do envy your ability to resist the pee stick!

I too am dying to start testing. My 5dt was the 4th. I am trying to hold out until Monday which will be 11dpo…..we shall see! Perhaps if it is documented I will feel more apt to follow!

Do it!!!! I have never ever seen a BFP from anyone prior to 10dpo equivalent so I wouldn’t test at all before then. And a better bet would prob be next day just cause they were frozen. I would say 5dp6dt earliest.

  5. September 6, 2012

According to FF, I’m 5 dpo, so I guess I could start peeing on things around Sept. 11th. However, I’ve developed a bit of an hpt phobia, so I may or may not pee on things before my period is due to show up. But you can put me down for the 11th anyway. πŸ™‚

  6. September 6, 2012

Pee on everything! Er… you know what I mean;-) I finally got a positive OPK yesterday, so let the TWW begin. Please add me to the list, I’m going to try to hold off until the 18th.

      You can totally do this!

Yay! You know, any time I mention pee sticks to the Professor he does the “pee on all the things” impression of your graphic. It’s hilarious πŸ™‚

  8. September 6, 2012

Dont do it!!! Wait it out!!! Distract yourself!!!

This is a great idea! Sign me up!

I’m 6dpo and I so want to pee on things but I need to wait until September 10 (Monday) at least. My beta is next Friday so I figure I can pee on things on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday is it’s negative. If it’s positive, I will be peeing with reckless abandon from Monday onward!

  10. September 6, 2012

While peeing on sticks does sound like a lot of fun…if mine came back positive I’d be really worried. The wife tells me she is not going to pee on anything before the blood test, but I’m not sure if I believe her. πŸ™‚

  11. September 6, 2012

Yeah for PUPO!!! I’m going to be the ultimate enabler… you pee whenever you want. Go to the dollar store, get a bunch of cheapies and pee every day starting now πŸ™‚

    • September 7, 2012

LOl! I think the husband is on super alert now, trying to keep me from going mad peeing. I’m pretty sneaky though…

  12. September 6, 2012

I can’t pee. She peed three years ago next week. Best of luck to all you pee-ers.

  13. September 6, 2012

You have to wait two weeks??? That’s just crazy. I feel like most clinics do the beta on the equivalent of 14dpo, so in the very least you could start testing then. I will say (yes, I’m enabling here) that I started testing 4dp6dt, and got a super faint line that day. That was nice and early, and with two implanting though. Good luck!!!!

    • September 7, 2012

I know! It is HARSH! When I expressed my dismay the nurse laughed and said, “You know you can take home tests before then, right?” I think this is doctor orders to pee on all the things…

Your clinic is like opposite land! Encouraging you to POAS? That’s crazy.

  14. September 6, 2012

I think next Wednesday is a good plan. I got both of my BFPs at 13 dpo. I’ll be crossing my fingers and toes for you!

    • September 7, 2012

Thank you sweet bloggie friend. ((hugs))

  15. September 6, 2012

I had 2 back to back IUIs this week on Tuesday and wed so I am 1-2 dpiui. I have a blood test appt on Sept 18th which will be 13dp the second iui. That is sooooo far away! Last month I tested two days and one day before my blood test and the negative result just depressed me. I am not sure if I want to POAS this time around or not but I know the wait will kill me!

Love this post! I think making a peeing pledge sounds great! I’ll be hoping for positives all around! πŸ™‚

  17. September 6, 2012

There will be no pee-shaming from our corner! We have collectively peed on more sticks than there are people in this world (probably).

    • September 7, 2012

      Lol! Good to know πŸ™‚

  18. September 6, 2012

PEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Pee pee pee! Waiting 2 whole weeks is insanity! Especially with such a perfect 6 day embryo. I think if you make it till next wednesday you’re amazing in my book. xoxo

  19. September 6, 2012

BELLE! I am due for a BETA (assuming all goes well) on the same day as you – we should PEE together. πŸ™‚

    • September 6, 2012

      Damnit I like this.

    • September 7, 2012

YES! Keep me posted on the progress of your embabies!

  20. September 6, 2012

I had two back to back IUIs this week (tues/wed). I am currently 1-2 dpiui. I have a follow up blood work appoint on Sept 18th. That will be 13dp the second iui. That is sooooo far away! Last cycle I tested the day before my blood test and seeing the negative test just depressed me and I ended up in tears in my doctors office during the blood test. I really do not want to do that again but I don’t know if I have the will power not to POAS before the 18th.

  21. September 6, 2012

If my ovaries didn’t suck ASS so badly, I would be peeing on things right along with you next week! Sigh. In honor of this pee fest, I will pee in spirit, or maybe I’ll pee all gangsta style in a cup, and dump a bit out in the grass and say, “one for my homie” and think of you. I am now going to be a classic enabler and say I would err on the side of peeing more frequently than less. It may take the edge off the pee. Just sayin πŸ™‚ Pee.

    • September 7, 2012

Hahahaha! Sunny, you always make my day πŸ™‚ You must video or photodocument should you dump some pee in the grass for your homies πŸ™‚ And I’m sorry your ovaries suck. Next cycle will be better. Your ovs are gonna love a higher dose xoxo

  22. September 6, 2012

I’m not a big pee-er. I usually pledge in my mind not to test until the day before I’m supposed to get my period–but only if I have no signs of spotting, which usually comes about 2 days before. So far, I’ve never made it that far. I would have to pull out a calendar to even guess at when that might be, and I’m not even going to do that. I am a pathetic excuse for an infertile.

But you should totally pee on or before next Wednesday!

  23. September 6, 2012

Good luck to all who are peeing or trying to hold out peeing!

  24. September 7, 2012

We didn’t wait for the blood test either we were so anxious. I think we waited a week too. Good luck with whatever you decie!

  25. September 7, 2012

    decide

  26. September 7, 2012

I’m new to this IF blogging thing and just found you! I had my first IUI on the 28th and have been going crazy waiting. I don’t usually pee on anything unless my temps are good on 12 or 13dpo, which has been like…twice in the last 14 months? Yeah. Crossing fingers I get to pee on something on Sunday! Beta is on Tuesday. Best of luck to you!

  27. September 10, 2012

Hey love, sorry I’ve been out but I am hoping, praying and crossing everything that this is it. I need some good news and you have to be it ok?! OK. xoxo
