Belle

We'll start with the promised cute cat photo. This is Newton, sleeping peacefully on a white tablecloth.

16 weeks full body

16 weeks close up

16 weeks frontal

Pardon the messy hair. It’s raining outside and I could not justify blow drying 🙂 I thought I’d add a front view. Shockingly, these are my new “big” pregnant boobs. Place bets now on how poorly I’ll breastfeed!

“Let’s not borrow trouble.” I need this tattooed on my hand 🙂

My pregnancy boobs look similar (I’m a week ahead of you). Some days they look giant and some days they look pathetic. Aren’t maternity pants the best?

  3. January 13, 2013

Those pants are so freaking cute! Where did you get them? From what I hear, boob size in now way correlates to how well you breast feed. I have also heard that when your milk comes in after you give birth, those puppies will get even bigger! How do I get your stomach, by the way. You look amazing!

Thanks! These are actually my Athleta yoga pants. I’ve been wearing them and another pair pretty much 24-7 b/c maternity pants suck so very much. I did buy two pairs at a consignment shop yesterday so I can look a little more presentable at the office, otherwise, it’s yoga pants till June 😉

All that matters with your boobs are your nipples, and even problems with those can be overcome! You’ll do great – I have no doubts!

What a lovely kitty! I want to snuggle him!

    • January 13, 2013

Lol, glad to know it is manly nipple, those are quite normal so hopefully I’ll be ok. Cute as Newton is, you might not want to snuggle. Poor dear does not bathe herself. All our cats have special needs – hers is washing! 😉

You look amazing. Congrats Belle, hubby and little chicken!

Aww, what a sweet photo of Newton.

You’re looking good!! And I think you’ll be fine breast feeding. Remember, size doesn’t matter.

  7. January 13, 2013

16 weeks??? You look incredible! 🙂

The woman who ran our baby carrying workshop and breastfed her 18 month old most of the way through it had small ta tas and didn’t seem to have any issue breastfeeding. 🙂

Yay these are great pictures! Messy hair? Please…!

  9. January 13, 2013

YAY!! Thanks for my fix! It’s true…you don’t look pregnant and ALWAYS look great. Love those pants as well…AND that cute kitty. The midwife I work with had a smaller chest than you and breastfed TWO SETS of twins just fine…yes…she had twins 8 years apart…and another kid also. Five altogether on little breasts and nursed for quite awhile, also. True about milk coming in….its something the Professor will never forget..let me tell you!! Ha Ha.

Wow you look great! I think I looked twice as big at 16 weeks! 🙂

  11. January 13, 2013

    You look great!

  12. January 13, 2013

Love the photos! But you sure don’t look like 16 weeks. And you know what? Size might matter for some things (*wink, wink*), but it doesn’t matter one bit when it comes to breastfeeding. My mama is small-chested but had an enormous milk supply. No problems at all! 🙂

You do NOT look 16 weeks!!! Oh my goodness! I knew that was nonsense about gaining too much 🙂 You look so fantastic, slim, strong and healthy. What’s your secret? (Seriously)

    • January 13, 2013

You are too sweet. The 12 pounds is TOTALLY in my rump and thighs. I seriously can’t get some pants up on my thighs anymore. I keep reminding myself that in a few months I’ll hit the bike again and whip them back into shape. As for secret now? Tons of water for the bloat and constipation and Summer Sanders’ annoying perky workout 3 times a week 🙂

Beautiful…so beautiful! Don’t count your boobs out – size has little to do with breastfeeding other than storage capacity (might just have to feed more often, is all). And you may be very surprised by how much bigger they might get before birth anyhow! Love the photos, hope it felt awesome to take them!

My grandma was stacked like nobody’s business and didn’t produce a drop of milk, so I know size by no means correlates to quantity/quality of breastmilk. I think you have every chance of successfully doing so 🙂 And might I add that I am so freaking jealous of your baby bump. I’m twelve weeks along and I look like I am 6 months along. :p

well, maybe those are magic pants, but even your butt (where you’re claiming to pack your 12 lbs) looks healthy. and, if the pants are indeed magic, i will be buying some.

at 16 weeks, my belly had a growth spurt. wonder if you will have the same? the baby grows a ridiculous amount these next stages, sometimes like 60+% per week!!

    • January 14, 2013

Actually, they really are magic ass pants. I swear by the Athleta line, which is made for women who are active and have some muscles. I highly recommend them for any other women with strong legs who can’t squeeze into the stick pants that seem to plague today’s market 🙂

I hope my belly has a growth spurt. I’m ready to look more pregnant and less like I’ve been drinking beer!

Random person on the Internet popping in to say my mother successfully breastfed THREE kids with her AA boobs (really) and I was the fattest of fat babies. (We have a baby picture of me entitled ‘sumo baby J.’) And mine were an A and I’ve breastfed two fat babies of my own. They did go up to about an F when my milk came in. So I hope it’ll be fine.

    • January 14, 2013

Lol! J.F., I love random internet comments 🙂 Glad to know some AA boobies could get the job done. This gives me hope. And the thought of my A’s going up to an F gives the Professor some hope, too! HAHA 🙂

  18. January 14, 2013

Im 2 days out from you and I look NOTHING like that! You look absolutely stunning. And dont worry about the boobs – the woman in my family are all heavy chested and were unable to breast feed. And big boobs HURT!!!

  19. January 16, 2013

Don’t worry they will get bigger! My cousin was smaller than you and now they are huge and she is breastfeeding and pumping fine. Your bump makes me smile so big!
