25 Week Chicken Lump

03/18/2013

Belle

25 week chickens copy

The cats did not cooperate for the camera so instead I’m sharing a photo of Chickens from my archive because who does not love a hungry chicken photo? This was taken in 2009 at Shaker Village very near the spot where I let Pip go three years later.

And now on to belly photos after the jump!

25 weeks

I’ve got to get better at taking photos. The growth between 25 weeks and 22 weeks is, quite frankly, scary.

22 weeks

22 week photo for comparison. I don’t think the belly is supposed to grow that much in three weeks time! I might need to eat less toast! I have not weighed in weeks. I considered it this morning but am vowing to resist stepping on the scale until I have a good poo.

I’m so not kidding here – there has got to be at least a pound of poo in me. I’m so desperate for a good poo that I took Miralax last night and if nothing starts moving today, I’ll take more Miralax before bed tonight. Somebody do a little poo dance for me, please.

25 weeks front

Frontal. Belly photos are ridiculous. And so is pregnancy constipation.

Your bump is looking great! Re: your poop situation – I’ve been taking probiotics twice a day and that’s been helping significantly with keeping regular! Whenever I forget to take them, I get backed up. Not sure if it helps everyone, but it definitely has helped me!

OMG! Your bump is absolutely perfect! And your hair is looking fabulous, too!

    Beautiful bump, toned mamma!

I think your belly is growing right on target. In one app or book (or something) I read, it said that around 26 weeks the uterus has grown to the size of a soccer ball. Nothing to be alarmed about. 🙂

Soccer ball? Really? Well that explains things then. 🙂

Such a cute bump and photos. Still loving your hair and debating whether to show a picture of it to the hairdresser when/if I ever get in there again. I’m so sick of my straight and boring hair.

Hehe if you were here I’d send you to my gal, she does a great cut!

You look fantastic!! That little chicken is growing up big and strong (that’s what I keep telling myself when I can’t believe how large-and-in-charge it is) 🙂 Congrats and super cute pants!

You are too cute!! Abby’s response to the frontal? ‘Ha! Her being silly!’ We’ll do a poo dance for you. 🙂

    • March 18, 2013

🙂 Abby is adorable! Yes, a poo dance would be very helpful.

Is that what you mean when they say you “popped?” You look great, girl! And I love the hair too.

    • March 18, 2013

Ah, thanks for the hair love! It has recovered from the butchering of 2012 – just in time for my bellies debut, evidently 🙂

    Seriously….you look awesome!!!!

    You look fantastic!

So have you tried the anal suppositories? I unfortunately was told to use one the night before my retrieval to make sure that everything was out of my system. I definitely felt violated, but it didn’t take long for results….

    • March 18, 2013

Oh suppositories… I used them once upon a time when I did not know I was allergic to dairy and was always MISERABLY constipated. Not since. That said, last night I proclaimed to the husband that if something does not happen soon we are moving to suppositories or, perhaps, straight to enema – which is a word I NEVER wanted on this blog! Desperate times call for desperate measures, though 🙂

    You look fabulous !!

Hi there, Just FYI my experience with Miralax is that it takes 36-48 hours to begin working — thought this might be helpful for you to know 🙂 Someone else told me this just before I took it and it helped me not to lose heart … Good luck!

    • March 18, 2013

Well then maybe tomorrow is my day… One can only hope 🙂

  13. March 18, 2013

You look cute with the bump. The major growth those weeks was excellent because that is when you got to the viability stage. Grow, chicken grow! I used to dried apricots to keep constipation away. Prunes aren’t as tasty but also helped. Good luck!

You look fabulous!! That Chicken is really becoming a known quantity now! So happy!

  15. March 18, 2013

Whoa, crazy! It’s totally getting huge! Weird how it’s almost moved up so now it starts bumping out right under your chest — maybe chicken is trying to reach something up there? Sending a little poo prayer your way, in the mean time. 🙂

  16. March 18, 2013

Omg. I thought I was the only one who waited for a poo before weighing! Been too scared to step on a scale lately. Your Belley bump is adorable.

    • March 18, 2013

You are absolutely NOT! Although maybe I’ll hop on really quick before I poo to get a before and after total so we have some concept as to how much of this lump is actually turd. I suspect a good portion of it!

    poo dance, check.

your bump is lookin’ fabulous! wonder if that stuff they say about girl vs boy and the shape/location of the bump is true? my bump is more protruding and lower than yours. my grandmother says that means its a boy. if you have a girl, given our differences in bump shape, then between the two of us, we have a horribly conducted scientific study with n=1 that shows that boys are in fact lower-carrying and more protruding than girls.

i hope the professor husband does not get involved in science this bad when he takes his math skills over to the dark side (biomed research):) i am sure he won’t!

    looking good!!! keep growing chicken!!!!!!!!!!

  18. March 18, 2013

I think you look terrific! And I’ll do a poo dance for us both.

  19. March 18, 2013

Look at you, Belle!! I know you’re conscious of your belly, but lady, you look fantastic!! And I can’t get over the change from a couple of weeks ago. So crazy.

Hoping the Miralax does the trick.

  20. March 18, 2013

Every week I wondered how much weight was poo and how much was baby. Ha! Love the bump!
