Hello little bloggie world! The Professor and I returned from our trip to Florida yesterday. It was a much needed escape from the mess and stress of making a baby and preparing to move to NYC. My little brother’s wedding was just beautiful, full of happy moments and flooded with tears as we are ALL wedding criers.
Much of the trip focused on spending time with the bride and groom so the Professor and I did not have our normal adventures outdoors. We did, however, spend lots of time applying SPF 70 to our fair Kentucky skin and basking in the sunshine.
We enjoyed some awesome vegan lunches.
And a super fun dinner with the entire wedding party where my sweet Oma was serenaded by a very bad jazz musician whose CD was titled “Sax Appeal.”
The “rehearsal dinner” was spent on the Banana River looking at manatees, dolphins and birds.
The happy couple got a special lesson on “relations” when we witnessed manatees mating.
The Professor and I still managed to squeak in two long morning walks on the beach to look at birds, collect a few sea beans and admire all the colorful jellyfish that had washed up the night before.
I befriended a very sweet, very fat cat who lived at the resort.
And finally, we officially fired the iPhone GPS after it lead us to the oceans’ edge and announced that we had “Arrived at Sanford/Orlando International Airport.” Thankfully we had extra time to find the actual airport and stop along the way to snap a few photos of Sanford, Fla. This sign was my personal favorite from the adventure.
