We have arrived!

I hate it when life gets in the way of blogging! The past two weeks have been a nightmare of packing and purging. The Professor went to NYC to close on our place (hooray!) and I stayed behind to pack and care for little Sabine. Then on Monday of this week a big old moving truck pulled up and hauled off our belongings. Humans and cats arrived in New York Tuesday evening and have spent the last few days cleaning the dirty apartment, painting and tackling an epic load of Ikea (note: Don’t be cheap and pass up on Ikea’s delivery service. Turns out our wardrobes do not fit in the elevator and the professor had to carry them up 6 flights of stairs heavy piece by heavy piece!)

Our moving truck is set to deliver our possessions next Wednesday, which is a long ass time to live in an empty apartment and sleep on an air mattress!

Our Internet should be on by Sunday so expect more regular posting to resume next week! In the meantime, here are a few pictures from the past few days!

Sabine got all dressed up to help me pack 🙂

Ugh. The box monster attacked.

The journey begins!

Weary Professor fills up on coffee to fuel the last three late night hours.

Crossing into NYC!!

Sabine’s first Ikea trip was a hit.

A huge Ikea load in our rental van. Never. Again.

So happy you arrived safely and are getting settled. I am so excited to see how you transform that apartment into an awesome space. Have the kitties arrived? How are they doing?

Oh how exciting! Congrats on surviving your move and that pic of all the boxes was a nice glimpse into your home. Love the archway!

You guys are amazing. I can’t imagine doing this with a newborn! And all with gorgeous smiles! 🙂

Thanks for the ikea delivery tip…I’m sure we’d do the same and skimp on it. Sabine is precious, and those rock n plays are wonderful. We called ours the magical throne.

    • August 24, 2013

The rock and play saved our baby-parent relationship!

      • August 24, 2013

Lol, probably same for us. Seriously, magical.

Where are you getting her bows?? I’m in love. I needs to buy me some!

    • August 23, 2013

Emajane….love their stuff and great prices but recently I’ve had SHIT service from them. As in the first time they shorted me 26 headbands and when they went to fix it they sent me the wrong ones….so buy with caution!

      • August 24, 2013

I read a few reviews saying this, too. I went out on a limb though and ordered through Amazon since it was only twelve bucks or so for 18 bows 🙂

    • August 24, 2013

Emajane in Amazon! Bagel neeeeeds some and then we neeeeeed photos 🙂

Wow, I found moving exhausting as just a couple, and you’re doing this with a newborn! An adorable newborn, I might add 🙂

    • August 24, 2013

Haha! It is the second hardest thing we have done as a couple! (The first was totally IVF)

  11. August 24, 2013

    Yay welcome!

    • August 24, 2013

Thanks! We must meet up once our stuff arrives and I have some free time from the unpacking!
