Night Three – No Sleep Suit/No Nursing to Sleep

Yesterday Sabine took a fabulously long nap from 9:40 a.m. to 11:55 a.m. I got SO MUCH DONE during this time. If only she could nap like this every day! This mornings a.m. nap was a nice 1.5 hours, however our afternoon nap is proving to be a real battle.

I don’t know if she would have slept through the night last night or not. The sleep specialist says no more dream feeds when I get home late from class. I was ok with this, but could not find the plug for the pump and my boobs were so full and still sore from the night before (a six hour stretch meant I woke up with rock hard boobies – ouch) so I tiptoed into her room and gave her a final dream feed.

The JPG of the sleep logs were difficult for some folks to read so I am attaching the PDF here. Click on the link below to view…

March 23 Ped Sleep Log

I’m on the fence about if we will start the next step (sleeping through the night training) this week or wait one more week. I feel like we should wait one more week and give her a chance to learn on her own now that I have freed her from the sleep suit. I also feel like I would like a good nights rest sooner rather than later! We will see how tomorrow goes I guess and decide last minute.

I’d write more, but she just woke up very, very sad after only 30 minutes of napping. I gave her a bin full of fun baby-safe kitchen things and it appears to be helping to cheer her up. Maybe a little extra Mama love will help her get another little nap later this afternoon.

You guys are making me look like a softie! I need to get on this STAT… As soon as Bryson’s night-time projectile vomiting comes to an end.

Sabine is doing great! I like your idea of taking an extra week. She’ll not need the real training.

I’m seeing some great progress, momma! I know Sabine will keep it up and you all will be sleeping through the night before you know it. 🙂

Hey, I remember that hamburger press from childhood 🙂 My mom would “let” me have the privilege of pressing the meat for dinner. It was fabulous fun.
