Night Four – No Sleep Suit / No Nursing to Sleep

Holy shit! It was not through the night but there was only one wakeup! This has not happened since she was, like, I don’t think she has ever gone two nights in a row without multiple wakeups. AND she slept till 6:55 a.m.! PLEASE let this be a new norm! Please let me stop using exclamation points!

Seriously, after almost 9 months of such horrible sleep I don’t know what to do with myself when presented with the idea of being rested. I think I’ll finish my toast (yes, I still eat toast… often three times a day) and take a run with baby girl before I hand her off to Ms. A (our nanny who comes on Thursday). Oh, and you know what else, if I’m rested I might start BLOGGING again regularly. Gasp!

    Holy crap!

So what time is the final nursing before lights out, and what happens between nursing and lights out?

I’m not nursing him to sleep tonight. The end.

I nurse on demand so there is no schedule. Dinner is around 7 and I make sure to nurse before that. Then we have bath time. If she is happy in the tub we will nurse in there. If she is super tired then we skip tub milk. Then pjs and I let her nurse a bit more. To keep her wake I keep all lights on and sound machine off. I talk to her during this time too. We discuss serious topics like if her toes stink and if her armpits are ticklish 🙂

Ok, thank you! I will keep lights up and sound machine off tonight while nursing! I bought a crib bumper today (the stuffed one – gasp!) because he loves sleeping against the rails, but bumps his head all night. I’m desperate to fix this without real training!

Woohoo!!!!! Yay!!! You must feel amazing!!! It is time, she has got this now. Just don’t let her push back – these babies take forever to make good habits and only one night to break them!

I need to do this with my guy. He was up about 90% of the night. He nursed 4 times! He cried and cried and played…..

Amazing! I’m jealous! Every once in awhile Zoe will have a night that she only wakes up once and it brings me so much joy, then the next night she is back to waking every 3 1/2 – 4 hours. I’m anxious to hear what training you guys have planned because I’m about ready to figure out how to get her to drop these feeds and sleep through the night.

Sabine and Beatrix have a lot in common in this way. 😉 We’re FINALLY on the other side and have been for a few months. Oh mama… I hope this is the start of your journey on the other side.
