Our bags are packed

Sabine packed herself.

Sabine and I are flying to Alabama tomorrow for a little Mama/Daughter visit with her grandparents. Our bags are packed, the house is tidy and stocked with junk food for the Professor (who will be staying behind) and my toes are freshly polished!

Sabine and I are seasoned travelers at this point. I wrote a while back about our car traveling tactics. Air travel has been pretty much the same, however this time I have an actual toddling toddler with me. Any tips on letting a little one wiggle around safely in an airport?

We are always in the Denver airport for layovers, so I bring the kids up to the 2nd level where it’s quiet and not so busy and let them run on the layover. Nice to burn off some energy that way!

I always do the baby carrier for the airport. And riding on the suitcase is a big seller too! With a smoothie where possible!

A travel related suggestion. If your Alabama trip takes you to or near Birmingham, you should check out the new Itty Bitty Museum at the McWane Science Center. It just opened and my 2 year old LOVES it!! Fantastic play and learning space for toddlers.

We let her run and climb anywhere. I know airports are icky, but I wouldn’t try to control her while you’re waiting for a flight. Just let her walk around and explore. I bring lots of foaming hand sanitizer for the plane, and wipe her down as much as possible. Hasn’t gotten sick once from flying!
