Walk Away

01/20/2016

Belle

Breathe.

Look at all the rocks that have tumbled down from that carefully built wall of emotions. Acknowledge that each rock is a trauma, a disappointment, a hurt, an injustice. What kind of rocks make up the wreckage?

So many rocks. Granite, limestone, quartz. Grey, brown, white, black. All a size that I can physically pick up.

Breathe in. Breathe out. Know that you do this perfectly. You breathe… perfectly.

Now pick up a rock. A small rock because we start small. Examine it. How does it feel in your hand? How heavy is it? Is it smooth and polished? Rough and jagged? Now you get to choose what to do with this rock. You can set it down with purpose. You can take it with you. You can throw it as hard and as far as you can. You can do whatever  is best.

I drop the rock at my feet, turn, and walk away.

From a guided meditation this morning.
